The chesterfield bed takes its visual identity from the deep button-tufting that has defined chesterfield furniture since the 18th century. The buttons pull the fabric inward at regular intervals to create a pattern of diamond-shaped sections across the headboard, which gives the design its characteristic depth, texture, and sense of formal elegance.
